Hypertension

Hypertension known as the “silent killer” is the most common long-term condition
in the UK and an important risk factor for heart disease, stroke and chronic renal failure. In Hounslow deaths from hypertensive related conditions has continued to rise and is higher than both regional and national averages. Admission
also increased with 84% of admissions among people aged 44 years and older.
 
Hypertension (high blood pressure) is the most common long-term condition in England and an important modifiable risk factor for heart disease, stroke and chronic renal failure. It is known as a “silent killer” because it is deadly and has no significant early symptoms.
