Chlamydia

   
Chlamydia is the most commonly diagnosed STI but most people who catch it don’t get any symptoms. Say ‘yes’ to the test and find out if you’ve got it. Remember you won’t be protected against STIs without a condom.

How do I know if I have Chlamydia?
 
The problem is most people do not have symptoms so you may not know you have it. That is why regular screening is so important.
 
 
Tests
 
Free regular tests are available for everyone under 25 who has had or is having sex.
 
The test is a simple urine sample or self taken swab
 
Results
 
You will be contacted by the method you choose- text, call or letter
 
 
Treatment
 
Don't worry. If you have Chlamydia you will be treated with a free single dose of antibiotic tablets
 
Your partner can also be treated to avoid re-infection
 
 
Where can I get a testing kit?
 
 
 
 
  • Some local GP’s and pharmacies - ask at reception or at the counter of your local doctor or pharmacist.
 
  • Sexual health clinic at West Middlesex hospital, call 020 8321 5718 for opening times.
 
  • Be Wize is the Under 18's clinic: Mondays and Wednesdays 3.30-5.00pm
